This is a collection of personal favorites from Roger, Jim and Tom.  We hope you like the tracks as much as we do.  The album was recorded at Three Rivers Studio in Medina, MN, overlooking the trumpeter swan pond.

Nobody likes deadlines and yet we just can't seem to function without them.

Such is life.

Jim: "I started playing violin at age 6 and quickly moved to piano  / organ then guitar when I was 15."   Jim has played in many bands over the years, covering rock, folk rock and bluegrass.  In addition to playing, Jim enjoys writing, recording and producing music of all types.  Music has always been a big part of his life.

Tom: "I love playing fingerstyle guitar that is bluesy with a rhythmic liveliness intended to draw the

listener into the warmth of great songs and beautiful instruments."  Tom also brings his warm voice to Welcome Drive’s solid harmonies. Tom’s musical influences include many traditional musicians such as Bind Blake, Jesse Fuller, and Big Bill Broonzy as well as more contemporary players like Jorma Koukonen, Richard Thompson, and Burt Jansch. Whatever the song style, Tom wants his playing to engage the listener in ways that enhances the song’s melody and meaning.

Roger: "I bought my first guitar when I was 13 with money from my paper route.  It was a Ward’s Airline ‘better’ model."  Roger originally played keyboards in his early rock and roll bands, but was always drawn to the bass.  It was the 'British Invasion' that influenced him most.  The Animals, Kinks, Yardbirds and John Mayall's Blues Band were early influencers.  It was the music of the Moody Blues that showed him that a band could do so much more with a unified vision of their music.  He is loving this new musical chapter in life, exploring the bottom line in songs.
